15 kg, made in Germany, socket up to 55 mm. For 2,5 and 3,0 m umbrellas on any ground without driving in.
To the shopAn umbrella stays a sail. However sturdily it is built — with enough wind, every surface becomes a target for the wind.
The right stand makes the umbrella stand cleaner and safer. But it does not make it indestructible or accident-free. Even with a good stand an umbrella can tip, wander or fall over — a stand is no "holds-everything" device.
When a storm rolls in, heroics do not help: close, secure or take it down in good time.
The km/h figures come from practice and are to be understood as experience values, not a guarantee. In the end, the on-site risk assessment always decides.
Weather protection is a duty. Not a nicety.
Anyone who has people work outdoors must assess the hazard from weather and take measures — § 5 ArbSchG, ArbStättV, ASR A3.5, DGUV Vorschrift 1. And under the TOP principle, the technical solution comes first: fixed weather protection over the workplace.
UV radiation
White skin cancer has been a recognised occupational disease since 2015 (BK 5103). Protection from UV index 3 — from March to October, especially between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Heat
ASR A3.5 grades it clearly: above 26 °C measures should be taken, above 30 °C they must be — above 35 °C the workplace is unsuitable without protection.
Storm & wind
Limits are set per task; from about wind force 8 (≈ 62 km/h) it gets critical. In a thunderstorm: stop work immediately.
Cold & wet
Weather-protective clothing down to −5 °C, below that cold-protective gear. Wet and wind worsen the chilling — a roof keeps crew and material dry.
Technical
Umbrella, tent, canopy — works regardless of behaviour. The first and most effective level.
That is exactly what the work umbrella is for.Organisational
Shift working hours, plan breaks, rotate tasks.
Personal
Protective clothing, sunscreen, headwear — the last level.
Which umbrella for your industry?
Industry first, then the model — not the other way round. That avoids a wrong buy. Pick your use, we name model, size and colour.

This is a recommendation, not a dogma — just quick guidance on which direction to think in. For civil engineering and many other tasks, other models fit just as well depending on the situation. Just tell us your use and we will advise personally.

Flying sparks
Yes → flame-retardant (Pipeliner · Reinforced · Rectangular). No → Worker or Heavy.
Ground
Soil/loam → SLAM RAM. Asphalt/concrete → folding stand.
Size
1–2 people → Ø 2,5 m. Team/large workpiece → Ø 3,0 m. Angular → rectangular.
Built for the site. Not for the shop window.
Steel mast, 36 ribs, individually sealed seams, packs down into the transport tube. Here, what holds counts.
36 ribs
36 ribs in the premium class (Worker, Pipeliner, Heavy), clipped into the canopy fabric — the distributed load makes the umbrella stiff and wind-stable.
Wind-stable in use
Ø 2,5 m up to 100 km/h, Ø 3,0 m up to 65 km/h — experience values from our own field use.
Steel mast, sealed seams
Steel mast with extension tube, every seam sealed individually. Built for daily setup and takedown.
A stand system for any ground
Soil, gravel, concrete, asphalt: SLAM RAM, Tripod Titan or heavy folding stand — the right stand option for every ground.
UV-stable, tight canopy
Tear-resistant, waterproof, UV-stable. Flame-retardant on the Pipeliner, reinforced version and rectangular umbrella.
Portable & durable
Premium models come dismantled in the transport tube — 14 kg (Ø 2,5 m) or 18 kg (Ø 3,0 m). Dry after rain, then it lasts many years.
Small enough to listen. Big enough to deliver.
AB Industrie Service was founded in Leipzig in 2010 — out of practice, by someone who knows pipeline construction from the trench, not from the catalogue.
Our principle: no junk. No clutter. No product just for the sake of selling. Only what we would use ourselves makes it into the range — what fails the practical test is dropped.
You describe site, ground and use — we recommend the right model plus stand and deliver. No sales rep visit, no hold queue.
Frequently asked questions.
Flame-retardant are the Pipeliner (Ø 2,5 m), Pipeliner Heavy (Ø 3,0 m), the reinforced version and the rectangular umbrella. The Worker and the standard Heavy are not — they are meant for use without flying sparks.
